The eBiznify eLearning platform offers training programmes in digital business launched by the Malta Communications Authority in 2018 and is part-financed by the Operational Programme II of the European Structural and Investment funds 2014-2020. It is delivered through a state-of-the-art customized elearning platform provided by the Advenio eAcademy, an MFHEA-licensed Higher Education Institution with years of experience in the design, development and implementation of online and blended learning programmes both locally and overseas. It includes both self-learning and collaborative learning elements.
The Malta Communications Authority (MCA) embarked on this ambitious initiative to help create a greater awareness of the tremendous potential of eCommerce and digital media to our local economy. This is one of a number of initiatives that the MCA rolled out in its undertaking to implement the National eCommerce Strategy, 2014 – 2020, which aims to ensure that the local business community has the necessary means and skills to capitalise on opportunities brought about by the digital economy.
In April 2020, the MCA teamed up with the eSkills Malta Foundation to roll out further intakes of this training programme. The eSkills Malta Foundation is a National Coalition made up of various representatives from government, industry and education who work to contribute to the increase in digital skills and the development of the IT profession. The general aim of the Foundation is the expansion and sustainable growth of the ICT skills in Malta. Through various initiatives, the eSkills Malta Foundation contributes to the expansion of ICT education across all levels. The Foundation is the national representative in the European Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition. The eBiznify initiative contributes to the upskilling and skills development recommended in the National eSkills Strategy 2019-2021.
